Get to know our Law clerk, Makayla Terrell!
She is a 3L rising studying at Howard University School of Law in Washington, D.C.
What made you decide the career path you have chosen?
Makayla – My decision to pursue law began during the second semester of my sophomore year in a class called “Legal Issues in Sport Settings.” What I initially viewed as just another requirement for my Sports Management and Marketing degree quickly became the class that sparked my passion for sports law.
As a Black woman pursuing a career in a predominantly male industry, I am committed to equipping myself with every possible advantage. Attending law school is not only about following my passion, but also about ensuring my qualifications are never questioned as I work toward owning my own sports agency and fulfilling my purpose.
My dad always told me to find a career where I would never feel like I was working a day in my life, and for me, that has always been sports.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Makayla – In my free time, I enjoy traveling, working out, and going to concerts. I also love spending time with my family and friends, cooking and baking, and relaxing by binge-watching a good show.
What’s a fun fact about you?
Makayla – A fun fact about me is that I have a goal of traveling to all 50 states, and so far, I’ve visited more than half of them.
